Marquez, Legados Both Grab Silver at 4th Annual LotP

East LA College women's wrestling hosted their fourth annual tournament, the Leader of the Pack, today in the "E-rena". A total of twelve teams from across the state packed the gym for what served as a late-season barometer ahead of next month's State championships in Fresno.

Freshmen Alyssa Marquez (110lbs) and Lynette Legados (117lbs) both placed second in their respective weight classes. Marquez pinned Anika Del Castillo of Mt. SAC, and then earned a techfall over Alondra Avila of Moorpark before losing a tough decision to Ashley Orozco of Victor Valley. Legados earned two pins on the afternoon (Marina Ramsey-Gilbert, Sacramento City; Hailey Fenton, Cerritos) along with a techfall (Jaelean Alvarez, Mt. SAC) before dropping the final match to Cerritos' Christina Osorio via pin.

Sophomore Britney Parga (131 lbs) also had a game effort, going 2-2 to finish fourth on the afternoon.

East LA finished fifth overall with a team score of 52.5. Perennial power Cerritos was tops with a score of 146.
