Top-10 Finish at GWC Best Overall Performance in Years

While the women's side of East LA College's Cross Country program has taken big strides as a team, the men have been more of a slow churn. Today, however, showed ELAC's men had more pep in their step.

Finishing tenth overall at today's Golden West Central Park Classic, the Huskies found themselves in unfamiliar territory: the top half of the team standings. ELAC finished with 302 points, ahead of South Coast Conference mate Pasadena City College (317).

"It's been awhile since we've been top-ten," commented head coach Milton Browne. "Years, in fact."

 

Individual ELAC results:

  • Jonathan Alfaro (So) was the Pack's top finisher among the men, placing 53rd with 22:53.49. 

  • Daniel Araya (Fr) was not far behind, 68th at 23:14.07. 

  • Angel Santiago (Fr) came in 82nd at 23:49.58. 

  • Aaron Reyes (Fr) had a solid effort — 86th with 23:55.45. 

  • Rey De Gante (Fr) also scored, at 95th with 24:13.83.
