Bobby Godinez has served as ELAC Athletic Director since 2018. Under his stewardship, many of East LA's athletic programs have taken leaps forward in terms of competitiveness as the department has expanded from 16 to 18 teams. More importantly: not only have more student-athletes obtained transfer scholarships under his leadership, but more have obtained transfer offers from NCAA Division-I schools, including the Power 5.

He has rebuilt and expanded internal operations of the department. He hired a new department secretary and facilities/equipment attendant while adding new positions such as a sports information specialist and event technicians. These moves alone have fostered unprecidented growth within the department with the benefit of bolstering support to team coaches and players.
